To sew yourself this dress, you need a stretch, medium weight fabric.
Let’s draft together the pattern.
Start from a basic block with darts, full front and back and a sleeve.
Draw the new neckline, reduce 1cm at the front neckline by widening the dart.
Draw also the slit and the skirt hem, and taper the skirt from the side seam.
Cut back and front on the new lines.
Draw some slash lines on front: one is passing through the waistline, and some others passing through the apex of the darts.
Cut through the lines.
Close the darts and open the slash lines to give the new volume.
Trace a copy of the front filling the gap and marking it as gathering.
Remember to keep the waist notch.
Add the back and the sleeve and your pattern is ready!!
