Bardot top with collar

4.5/5

Let's draft the pattern for this top. To draft the pattern start from a basic block without darts and negative wearing ease.

You can sew it in lycra or jersey, or another knit fabric. A ribbed one would also look great.

It's a super quick make!

Step 1

Trace a copy of back, front and sleeve with negative ease appropriate to the fabric you chose.

Draw front neckline as you like it – we suggest lowering 8 to 10cm from shoulder point and going towards center front ending at right angle.

Draw back neckline dropping the same measurement from shoulder point, then curve it upwards to back neckline.

Step 2

Measure on front and back the bottom part of armhole (up to the new neckline), then find matching points on sleeve cap.

Align back, sleeve and front merging them in a temporary way at armhole, then draw the neckline on sleeve connecting front and back ones.
