Bodice with neckline darts

4.5/5

Here is one more vintage inspired pattern!

You could use it for the upper part of a dress, for a blouse or even a jacket.

Step 1

Start from a basic block with darts. add the button stand.

Draw the underbust line and curve it slightly upwards toward the side seam.

Widen the waist dart by 0,5-0,7cm at the underbust to make the bodice more fitted.

Draw a slash line from the neckline to bust point for the bust dart manipulation.

Step 2

Trace the waistband in two separate sections: center front and side panel.

Trace the upper part of the bodice with the new dart opening, then draw the new slash lines for further dart manipulation.

Step 3

Cut through the new lines.

Step 4

Space the pieces evenly and mark the dart lines and fold direction.

When sewing it, lock only the first few cm and then leave the darts free as they were pleats.
