Crop top with cups

4.5/5

Let's draft together the pattern for this crop top with cups.

To add bones, bonecases are created topstitching seam allowances to the side. Underwire is inserted into a wire case sewn to the corset inner part.

You can use any light to medium weight fabric - just remember to adjust wearing ease if you use something a bit stretchy.

Step 1

To draft the pattern, start from a contoured block.

Draw underbust line and widen waist dart on front so that it is 3cm wide from waist to underbust.

Step 2

Draw back neckline, continue the line at front armpit, then use the underwire as a ruler to draw a matching curve on underbust.

We suggest to always draw the line shaped exactly as the wire you’ll be adding as this prevents bad wrinkles on fabric 😉

Step 3

Depending on your cup size, draw a line 1cm wider at underwire bottom and 1 to 2cm wider in direction of armhole.

Draw neckline approx 3cm away from bust point.

Widen shoulder dart by 0,5cm at neckline.
