We saw this project as an incredible opportunity to upcycle some old jeans! But of course you could draft the pattern and sew it out of any new fabric with a similar weight.
To draft the pattern, start from a contoured bodice.
You can learn our method for drafting perfectly made to measure basic blocks (contoured ones, and the ones with wearing ease) and for fitting them in our basic blocks course/module 1.
Step 2
Draw 3 lines parallel to underbust and 3,5cm below it and each other to create the small waistbands.
Step 3
Draw the cup leaving 1cm from center front at underbust.
Choose the coverage you want above bust point by measuring on yourself.
Draw the side band 3,5cm wide ending 2cm before side seam at underbust, this band will be the shoulder strap and is drafted in direction to high shoulder point.
