Draw your basic dress with darts and ease (I suggest 4 to 6cm wearing ease at bust, 4cm at waist, 2 to 4cm at hips, but you can change it according to the fabric you’re using and the fit you prefer).
Highlight bust level, waist and hip ones.
Lengthen back and front to mid calf.

Now, still on back, erase waist darts and discard them this way (blue lines):
Draw the slit line in center back, 20 to 25cm below hip level.
Taper back skirt by reducing 2cm from each side at hemline, then square up for about 30cm and blend to zero at hips.
Cut through the lines.
