
Step 1
Start from a basic pant, choose the length measuring from the crotch line. We suggest 10-12cm.
Lower the crotch curve by 1-1,5cm.
Square down from the apex of the darts, as their volume will be changed into the flare.

We suggest to use a lightweight, drapey fabric as cotton or viscose.
Start from a basic block with appropriate ease allowance.

Cut through the slash lines and close the waist darts. Open their volume at the hem – you should be flaring 2-4cm.
Flare the same amount also from side seam and inseam, redrawing the whole shape.
This is the pattern for the inner layer of your short pants.
Now let’s work on the outer one.
Get the basic block that you were cutting earlier and replace the front and back pieces by closing the dart but opening a bit more (4-6cm) at the hem.
