High waisted jeans skirt

4.5/5

A super high waisted skirt with lots of topstitching and details.

To draft the pattern, start from a basic skirt. If you didn't draft your made to measure skirt with our method yet, here is a free pre-course including instructions and fitting tips ;)

Draft a pencil skirt with zero wearing ease if you want a tight skirt and/or you use stretch denim, or add 2cm ease to waist and hip circumferences for a non stretch version.

Step 1

Extend the skirt above waistline by 5 to 8cm, or start from a dress block and cut it at underbust.

Taper at mid thigh taking 1cm from side seams, then flare 5 to 8cm at hemline on sides.

Step 2

Get back and draw a slash line from dart apex to hemline, then draw the waistline and a yoke line that is 7 to 9cm in center back and 5 to 7cm on side seam.

Cut through the lines to separate pieces.

Step 3

Close darts on waistband piece and back yoke line.

The remaining part of back dart is discarded in between center back and side back panel.
