Measure 5-7cm from high point shoulder to find the armhole position. Draw its shape ending approximately at the waist.

The perfect fabric is a medium weight, slightly drape one, as crepe cady. You could play with different fabrics to get different effect: an interesting option could be a lightweight denim or chambray for a relaxed daywear, or a silk twill version for a ceremony, worn with a tie cinching your waist.
