Long dress with side flounce

Let's draft the pattern for this evening dress. The interesting flounce structure is supported by a crinoline tape/horsehair braid that holds the weave.

We suggest to sew it in organza for the best result :)

Step 1

To draft the pattern, start from a basic block with darts and zero or minimum wearing ease.

Draw a full skirt and flare sides by 8 to 15cm, then mirror front.

Cut through waistline to separate bodice and skirt.

Step 2

Make sure darts are even in length and width, then square down from dart apexes and cut through the slash lines.

Step 3

Close waist darts and open volume at hemline. Trace a copy of both skirts.
