One shoulder corset dress

4.5/5

Let's draft the pattern for this asymmetric corset dress.

It has cups, one shoulder, a side slit and bones. We suggest to sew it in medium weight fabric, as medium weight crepe.

We would add interlining to the full bodice, underwire and bones. Lining to the full dress, staytape to neckline and armhole.

Step 1

Start from a basic dress with zero ease allowance and darts.

Draw a line parallel to waistline 5 to 8cm above it.

Reduce back waist dart at waist to shape a bit center back.

Step 2

Cut through the horizontal line above the waist.

Widen front dart to make it 3cm wide from waist above.

Step 3

On bodice, draw the underbust line and the underwire.

Make waist dart 3cm wide at underbust.

Widen shoulder dart by 1cm at neckline.

Step 6

Mirror back to have the full shape, then draw the asymmetric neckline and shoulder strap.
