One shoulder draped shirt

4.5/5

Let's draft the pattern for this asymmetric top.

It features a one sleeve neckline, high-low hem and gathers on the opposite side seam creating a sort of ruffle.

You can sew it in any lightweight fabric, as this shirting cotton.

Start from a basic block with darts and sleeve. First, mirror front and back.

Step 1

First, widen the neckline by 3 to 5cm on right shoulder line.

Measure down along the left side seam 1cm from armpit, then draw the neckline connecting the two points.

Widen left shoulder dart by 1cm on the neckline to make the blouse tighter to the chest.

Lastly, draw the high low hemline.

Step 2

Cut through neckline and hemline, then draw some slash lines from left side seam to bust point on front and to the apex of right waist dart on back.

Shorten left back waist dart so its apex sits on the slash line.

If needed, extend downward right back dart so that its apex is on hemline.
