At first, trace a copy of back and front.
Adjust the length and taper at the hem reducing 2cm from side seam.
Reshape center back reducing 1,5cm at waist and reduce back dart by a matching measurement.
Start from a basic block with darts. It should have a little to no wearing ease according to the fit you prefer and the fabric you use (if light or medium weight, if with stretch or not, if you add lining or not..).
There's a wide choice for fabrics: you can make a sporty, summer version in cotton, an office one in wool or wool blends, a cocktail one in silk or brocade...it's a very versatile pattern!

Cut away the excess at center back.
Cut through front waistline to separate bodice and skirt.
Let’s work on front: we need to draw style lines and slash lines for manipulating darts.
On skirt, draw a slanted line from side seam to center front at waist – this is the overlapped part.
On skirt, highlight the waist dart and draw the slanted line from bust point towards center front.
