Step 1
Start from a basic block without darts and minimum ease allowance 10cm at bust circumference.
Widen the neckline on front and back by 3-4cm on shoulder line.
Let's draft the pattern for this shirt dress. It features dolman sleeves, pleated bodice, elasticated cuffs and a 2-pleats skirt.
The inspiration is sewn in cotton fabric, and you can see our version here (it is realized on a 1/4 measurement mannequin).
You can sew your version in any shirt fabric or even lighter versions in viscose or more formal ones in silk. It is such a versatile pattern!
Start from a basic block without darts and minimum ease allowance 10cm at bust circumference.
Widen the neckline on front and back by 3-4cm on shoulder line.
Get front and draw the dolman sleeve. The horizontal line starts from high point shoulder and extends by shoulder measurement + sleeve length (3/4 sleeves). Square down from this point to reach armhole level.
Here is the front with dolman sleeve.
Add 1,5cm to center front for button stand.
Draw the slash lines for pleats every 5-7cm (spread them evenly through center front).
Extend the front piece drawing the skirt part and flaring it by 6-8cm at hem.
Draw a slash line at last pleat and a vertical slash line in skirt. Cut through both lines to separate pieces.
