Step 1
Trace back and front separate, then adjust length to mid calf or desired measurement.
Taper 2 to 3cm from sides at hemline, blending to zero at hips.
Raglan dress with gathers and hood
Style analysis: fitted midi dress with deep V neckline. One piece raglan sleeves with gathers at shoulders, center front and center back seams with gathers in middle section.
Fabric: any light to medium weight knit. We suggest a solid color. It's possible also to sew it in light to medium weight wovens as crepe - we suggest picking something with a little stretch.
Draft the pattern starting from a basic dress with darts and 2 to 6cm ease on bust circumference.

Step 2
Draw the raglan line:
- drop 8 to 12cm from nape point in center back, square right to 3cm before armhole, then draw a curve merging to it
- drop 5 to 7cm from neckline in center front, square left to 3 or 4cm before armhole, then draw a curve merging to it.
Cut through the lines and close upper part of front shoulder dart.
Trace copies of raglan pieces (you will need the original ones later!)
Step 3
Get the basic sleeve, trace a copy of it and merge the raglan pieces by matching notches on armhole and sleeve cap.
Raglan pieces will be approx 3cm apart at shoulder notch as the basic sleeve includes ease – that’s ok!
