Top with bardot neckline

4.5/5

Let's draft the pattern for this romantic draped top with wide neckline.

It would be perfect if sewn in lightweight woven stretchy fabrics, jersey or loose knits.

To draft the pattern, start from a basic block with darts and positive, zero or negative wearing ease, according to the stretch of the fabric you use.

Step 1

Trace a copy of back, front and sleeve, then mirror front to have it full.

Cut the sleeve in the middle.

Step 2

Merge sleeve to back matching notches and armhole section right below notches, then draw the new neckline lowering 8 to 12cm on center back.

Step 3

Merge front sleeve to front bodice as done for back, then get the back sleeve and continue drawing the neckline on front sleeve and then front, passing through center front roughly at bust level, ending in the opposite side seam.
