Let's draft together the pattern of this pencil dress.
Start from a basic block with darts.
You can learn our method for drafting perfectly made to measure basic blocks (contoured ones, and the ones with wearing ease) and for fitting them in our basic blocks course/module 1.
First, draw the dolman sleeve on the back raising 1,5cm at the neckline and 2,5cm at the shoulder tip.
Redraw the side seam and center back discarding the dart volume.
Then move to the front, draw the V neckline and the underbust cut.
Discard the dart from the side seam.
Draw a slash line from bust point to the armpit and cut through it.
You should close the underbust dart and open it there.
Get the front and draw the dolman sleeve by tracing it from the back.
Remember to lower 1,5cm at the neckline to balance the amount you gave to the back.
Get the front and draw the slash lines from bust point as you see them..somehow a rectangular shape.
Cut through them and close the shoulder dart.
