Let’s draft together the pattern of this pencil dress.
Start from a basic block with darts.
First, draw the dolman sleeve on the back raising 1,5cm at the neckline and 2,5cm at the shoulder tip.
Redraw the side seam and center back discarding the dart volume.
Then move to the front, draw the V neckline and the underbust cut.
Discard the dart from the side seam.
Draw a slash line from bust point to the armpit and cut through it.
You should close the underbust dart and open it there.
Get the front and draw the dolman sleeve by tracing it from the back.
Remember to lower 1,5cm at the neckline to balance the amount you gave to the back.
Get the front and draw the slash lines from bust point as you see them..somehow a rectangular shape.
Cut through them and close the shoulder dart.
Still on the front, redraw the underbust line and draw 3 slash lines for the pleats.
Cut through them and separate the pieces by 6-8cm.
Redraw the whole block marking the inner part of the pleats and their direction.
The pattern is ready: back bodice and skirt, front bodice and skirt.
